Abstract

Background: There is empirical support for the efficacy of physical activity in regulating blood pressure, although less knowledge exists on the barriers to exercise engagement among individuals with hypertension. This research used a cross-sectional design to assess the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice about blood pressure management among individuals with hypertension .Objective: The objective is to evaluate the level of knowledge, attitude, and behavior regarding exercise for blood pressure management, as well as to determine the relationship between patients' knowledge, attitude, and practice and other factors. Methods A total of 85 (Male 40 and Female 45) hypertension patients participated in this examination 20 and more. An organized survey was used to get information from respondents who were enrolled in selected clinics to obtain data on socio-demographics, learning, mindset and routine exercise in blood circulation control. Results A majority of the responders, namely 50 individuals (60.0%), exhibited inadequate exercise habits. The majority, namely 60 individuals (70.6%), had a commendable understanding of exercise as a means to treat hypertension, while 56 individuals (65.9%) exhibited a pessimistic outlook towards exercise. The relationships between knowledge of exercise and age (x2=2.084; p=0.559), attitude (x2=3.530; p=0.330), and practice of exercise (x2=1.660; p=0.674) were found to be negligible. A strong correlation was seen between knowledge and married status (x2=6.293; with a p=0.002), but no significant correlation was identified between attitude and marital status (x2=5.065; p=0.083), or practice (x2=3.295; p=0.256).).Conclusions: The patients with hypertension shown a satisfactory level of knowledge, but, they exhibited a negative attitude towards exercise and displayed inadequate adherence to blood pressure management measures. Education has a profound impact on the acquisition of information, development of attitude, and implementation of exercise for the purpose of controlling blood pressure.
